“You can’t argue with that logic,” Riley said with a mischievous glint in her eyes. “I’m actually a cupcake genius.” She flashed another wide smile, and then was waving to the familiar barista that Sarah ordered from. “And nice to meet you, Sarah!” While the two girls waited for the barista to load up their cupcakes, Riley leaned against the counter. “Oh, I’m a passenger,” she replied. “Though… I could definitely think of worse places to work, if that was the case!” As much as she liked working with computers, she could only imagine the kind of life that would be acquired by working on the open sea. It’s possible she romanticized the idea, but no matter, it was still an enthralling one.
Once their cupcakes had been delivered on the counter, on twin plates, Riley picked one up and thanked the barista. “I love this place. Cyamites? Baked goods, coffee, and computers lining the walls—that’s pretty much all I want in any given day.”
