His accent was English, but not roughly so. His travels, from a young age, had probably lessened it some, but it was still there. The British phrases and slang came and go, as well.

Even if he was at least partially interviewing her, it was in a very friendly, conversational manner. Quite informal. In his years of journalism and talking to people in general, he'd become rather good at being easy to talk to.
