CJ could tell from her reaction that she obviously did not like the idea of another woman joining their little party of two. He wasn't sure why she gave a damn, it wasn't as if she were interested in him aside from an escort to the show, someone to sit by so she didn't have to sit alone. He couldn't even touch her without her getting all frigid on him. It was stupid for him to think that the two of them could occupy the same air compatibly. They were too different.
When she sat forward he removed his arm from the back of her chair and finished his drink. The glass made a loud thump as he slammed it back down on the table. The entire day he'd spent sober just for her felt like a complete and utter waste of a decent opportunity for a good time.
