Who: Alexander and OPEN Where: the Gaia When: Late morning
Alexander Wood had plenty of free time until the dance extravaganza that evening, and the following rock concert, so he thought he might explore the ship some. His nephew, Levon was taking his late morning nap, as was his sister Leto as well, probably, so there wasn't much to keep him occupied there, anyway. He'd seen a lot of the ship already, of course, but the thing was so huge, he kept discovering new places. Before leaving Leto's room, he'd informed her that if he didn't check back in a few hours to send a search party after him. He'd been joking, of course, but he didn't doubt that one could easily become a bit disoriented. Used to being in the outdoors, on camping trips and the like in the real wilderness, he could find his way with a compass, or by looking at the placement of the sun - or stars - in the sky. Put him in an enclosed space like this, however, no matter how spacious, and he was more likely to get a little, well, lost! But that's what maps and the staff were for, although he would certainly be one of those guys who didn't enjoy asking anyone for directions.
He found his way to the fourth deck, or D deck, where both Homer's Library and the Gaia caught his attention. The veterinarian was just dressed casually in a t-shirt over faded jeans and sneakers, not really trying or hoping to impress anyone. And anyway, its was he usually wore back home - he'd change into something nicer for the evening out, of course. He stepped into the greenhouse and the gentle, relaxing sound of water reaching his ears first. The scents of the various array of colorful flowers hit his nostrils, and it was a good thing he didn't have allergies. It gave him the slight impression of being outside, rather than inside on a ship, which he enjoyed. Absently, he perused through the greenhouse, glancing at brochures talking about the flowers. Idely, he wondered at how Erika would have enjoyed this - all the colors, and the smells. That, of course, brought him back to the dream he'd had about her last night. While he wasn't that deep into thought, he really wasn't paying much attention to where he was going. As such, he was caught completely unawares when he turned a little corner and ran smack dab into another person. He instinctively reached out to catch him or her, just in case. "Oh, Jesus, sorry about that," Stupid, stupid, stupid... "Wasn't paying attention to where I was going... you alright?"
