Stargazing [01 May 2009|04:51pm]

Who: Emily and Gregory
When: Shortly before midnight
Where: Astraia and the Oracle (Emily's and Gregory's rooms)

Emily walked into her room and closed the door, then leaned back against the door and closed her eyes for a moment while she rested and gathered her thoughts. It had been a long, hard day, and she was scheduled to get up early in the morning to meet Katie for the door-to-door checks. Moving over to the sofa, she took a seat and removed her shoes and socks, and pulled out the list of names she had received at Sean's meeting earlier that evening. The list of people that she and Katie were supposed to check on was disturbingly short, and the meeting had not really gone that well in her opinion. She had blundered by suggesting that one of the staff members was involved in a cover-up, when there was no real basis for it, and Sean and some of the other passengers had called her on it. That's what she got for shooting off her mouth without thinking. But then Sean had made a statement that wasn't much short of an invitation to mutiny against the crew. She didn't think Sean had intended it that way, but his choice of words had been at least as bad as hers. Fortunately, no one seemed inclined to actually mutiny.

TIME UPDATE [01 May 2009|10:41pm]
DATE: Tuesday, January 5, 2010.

WEATHER: It's a cloudless day, and particularly hot and humid.

EVENTS: Things are being fixed all over the place. No, seriously. The first thing one might notice is that every remaining injury from the chaos of New Years Eve has been healed. Every single one. No few miracles here, today - they're everywhere.

The next thing one might find is that almost everything that broke on New Year's Eve has been fixed or replaced. Every bit of fitness equipment, statues, chandeliers... all replaced and good as new. Of course, clocks, cellphones, communication, security, and ship devices still aren't working.

Of course, there are more disappearances. Ronnie will find that he is the only security guard left, or at least reporting for duty. The security room appears to have had some recent use, but there's no telling who was in there. There's no way of saying how much of the crew has disappeared, but you're not going to be seeing any crew walking around. The few that are left (and we do mean few) have barricaded themselves off somewhere - it seems most likely that they are in the bridge. If passengers or staff try to access the crew-only parts of the ship, they will have no luck. Everything has been barricaded from the other side.

In other news, the body of a passenger was found last night, though that news has not yet spread through the ship. Only the people who were there know about it, and whoever they have told, and so on. The security that showed at the scene have all disappeared. On one of the top decks, a small amount of blood and a tooth may be found.

Though news of the murder hasn't spread yet, there are a few rumors being passed around by passenger and staff alike. It seems that people are cracking under the pressure of being lost at sea. Those four boys that lost their parents? One of them apparently went nuts the other night at the Cult of Dionysus, and brutally beat his little brother and pinned him to the table with a pool cue. Another wild rumor is that they're not lost, but this is all actually some sick government experiment that the crew is running. Different versions of the rumor say that the FBI guy on the computers is in on it. And those roombas the escaped patient put out? Are actually recording peoples reactions as part of the experiment. It's all psychological to see how people will react. Thing is, when the game is up, they're all expendable, if only to keep them from telling. So if you listen to the rumors, everybody's fucked - but what else is new?
