Who: Richard Hadley & Open
When: Around Eight PM.
Where: Eurycleia's Cafe

The last New Years Eve that Richard Hadley had acknowledged had been the New Years eve that had tipped over into the New Millennium. This had not been a social happenstance. The software run by the Engineering company he had been working for at the time was rumored to explode and discontinue the present space time continuum, or at least that was what IT had had the employees believe. As Nineteen Ninety-Nine had ticked over into Two-thousand, Richard Hadley had noted with some degree of happiness that the space-time continuum had not defied the laws of physics, prompting him to turn his attention back to the task at hand. Nineteen Ninety-Nine to Two-thousand had been a curiosity, he'd taken a couple of minutes of his time to satisfy this curiosity. Two-thousand and eight to two-thousand and nine was not a curiosity; he was being forced to acknowledge it.

He'd had plans to stay in his suite and finish the novel he'd taken to reading over the past day, but there had been a nagging sentiment at the back of his mind that had insisted he emerge from the suite for New Years eve and mingle with the other passengers. Or at the very least have some dinner and a drink. Dressed in a slightly more formal attire than usual, a black bow-tie coupled with an evening suit, a pristinely groomed Richard Hadley stood in Eurycleia's Cafe watching the growing storm from safely behind the cold glass of the windows, his Father, a former Navy Admiral had always said that the sea took what it wanted and at the moment, Richard could see what the man had meant. Turning, he was surprised to find somebody beside him, also view the dark scene beyond the window. He offered them a small smile.
