Who: Katie and Open!
When: Late afternoon
Where: sunning on the Helios deck
If nothing else, Katie had survived the morning. Being on the ship didn't make her feel claustrophobic, as long as she didn't try something stupid like an elevator or narrow hallways. But the crowd during the morning in the lobby for check-in had raised a lot of anxiety. Once she got checked in, she took enough xanax to probably drop a normal person for a week, and quite successfully Chilled Out for the rest of the morning and half of the afternoon. When she came out of her haze, she felt much more willing to leave her room.
Still, she didn't feel ready for the lower decks, so she put on her bikini and went up. The Helios deck was lined with dozens of lounge chairs, and that sounded like just the sort of relaxation Katie needed right now. She claimed one and leaned back, breathing in deeply of the sea air as she told herself it would all be okay.
