Aw, Hell. He’d startled her anyway. Well it was bound to happen. His first instinct was to go and pick up her book for her so he did. It wasn’t a bad first instinct and his mother would have been very angry with him if he didn’t. Jamie smiled a little bit at her stumbling words as he went and picked up her book. So she was shy. He was going to have to be on his ultimate best behavior then. And no sudden moveme—Well, no, she’s not a snake after all. Or a T-Rex. He couldn’t stay in that crouch for very long so he stood up before holding her book out for her.
“No actually... This is my first adventure on the ship. I kind of got sea sick,” He looked rather sheepish about it like it was something to be embarrassed about. Technically it was because he was from California and lived near a lake and an hour from the ocean. Some people were just not meant for sea travel. Still, here he was. “You were here first so it’s up to you who goes and who stays – or if either of us moves at all. Only fair.” He realized it sounded like he was putting her on the spot and that really wasn’t fair but it really was up to her. Jamie was intruding on her spot and if she said go – well, it was a big ship and he wouldn’t be insulted in the slightest.
