Samantha hadn't even noticed him walk up, she'd be so intent on her own thoughts that it startled her quite a lot. She jumped, the hand holding the book dropped it, causing it to land on the floor, and her other hand lifted to rest on her chest as she gasped. She turned sharply to stare at him with wide eyes, taking a moment to process his worse. Her first instinct was to leave, immediately. But she liked the greenhouse, and was internally debating whether it was worth taking a risk being alone with this man, or not.
"Uh, no, it's fine," Samantha said, stammering slightly. It didn't help in the least that she found him very attractive, which on a whole she equated to being bad news. The entire situation made her nervous. She blushed when she realized she was staring at him, and then the blush deepened when she realized she'd been so surprised she'd dropped her book and stared at it dumbly for a few seconds, not sure what else to say. Savannah was always the one who was good at talking to people, especially guys. Biting her lip, Samantha looked back at him, "Do you usually practice here? I can leave and go somewhere else?" It was typical Samantha behavior. Always offer to put everyone ahead of her, or assume that it was necessary for her to be out of the picture in order for anyone to be able to comfortably do what they wanted.
