"Thank you," he answered genuinely with a crooked little smile, when she told him of her hopes for his good story. It was his dream, and always had been, really, ever since he'd become a journalist. While he wasn't perfect, or some martyr, he did want to tell a good, honest story. The underdog's story - that sort of thing. It had never really been about him becoming some famous journalist, or bettering his status in life. Well. Not completely. That sort of thing would always be nice, of course.
He really wasn't rejecting her. She seemed like a nice enough young woman, engaging, and to say that she was attractive was an understatement. It wasn't that he was too good for her. Even for the profession he was in, Graham could be a bit oblivious to situations at times. He was a people person, and often jumped eagerly into social groups, but more often that not, only when it would help him with a story. Other than that, he tended to be a loner. He had flings here and there, sure, but for the most part, no constant female companionship. Not since the divorce. That and, well, work did tend to keep him rather busy.
"I most certainly will," he nodded, making eye contact as he gave her a smile that was charming in its natural, real quality. He quirked a brow. "Maybe I'll come 'round for a hair-cutting. Can't trust just anyone with my fair locks, you know."
