"You work for the Post? Seriously?" Lynne asked, surprised. "That's pretty awesome!"
To say that she was impressed would've been putting it lightly. She'd never really read the New York Post and she wouldn't pretend she had, but she'd definitely admit that she'd always considered it one of those prestigious papers; stuff that important people read. Like the Wall Street Journal and Page Six. ...wait, wasn't Page Six part of the Post? Lynne wasn't sure and didn't want to ask, lest she look like an idiot.
"Hey, don't knock it," she laughed when he suggested that they might've given him an especially nice room because of his job. "My room's gorgeous, but, then again...no basis for comparison," she reminded him. "But if it's working for them and you get a good deal out of it, hey, sounds like good news to me," she replied, smirking.
When he took a bite of his burger, Lynne pulled a piece of her sandwich off and popped it in his mouth while he wasn't looking. Oh, man...so good... she thought happily, nodding along with him as he pronounced that the cafe had his approval. "Mine too, totally," she agreed wholeheartedly.
"So...are you, like, from New York, then? I mean, obviously not originally?" she asked more than stated, making note of his accent again.
