Leah had to forced herself to inhale deeply so that she wouldn't run out of air or chicken out. If she could just focus on the words and the feelings behind them then she should be able to avoid her nerves. She hated being so nervous in front of someone that she didn't really know, but wouldn't it be easier to sing in front of a stranger than a family member or a friend? At least then he would give her honest feedback, right? Family and friends were never honest because they didn't want to necessarily hurt your feelings.
Her lips parted and she forced the timidness out of her voice rather easily, and instead her voice was smooth as she sang through the first few notes and words, purposely not paying attention to his face right now so that she wouldn't forget the words.
