When CJ leaned down towards her, Savannah's breath had caught in her throat. He smelled liked tooth paste, and she had been momentarily certain that they were going to forgo the coffee altogether.
It was disappointing when he moved away, but she had to grin. It meant the game could go on a little longer...and Savannah certainly did love playing the game.
"Play your cards right, and I'm sure you'll totally find out before the cruise is over," she answered as he returned to coffee duty.
Savannah accepted the coffee with a grateful smile. The warm glass felt nice snuggled between her hands. "I love music," she told him, smiling. Most girls her age did. "And this is like an opportunity or something, right? This is way less awkward than having to talk to those weird people who never shut up but never have anything interesting to say."
Steam was wafting up from the cup. Pursing her lips, she blew on it gently. The smoke momentarily formed a soft arc as it disappeared towards the ceiling.
