Peter chose that unfortunate moment to walk into the room. His cane clicked against the floor in forewarning a moment before he opened the library door. Immediately, he looked around the room with an expression of obvious surprise; he hadn't expected to find everybody and their brother present.
But, it was, perhaps, for the better they were all here. He recognized the various members of the security team -- they had become rather well-known faces, after all -- and he cast his eyes about the room until he found Cath.
"I'm sorry to interrupt," Peter murmured. He felt old and tired. For a man of his years, it had been a long walk from the body to the library, especially because he had been trying to hurry. "May I have a word, Cath? I'm afraid it can't wait."
It certainly might have been simpler to address the entire party...but there was a child present, as well as Leto's father. Peter was beginning to think of them more and more like civilians. And civilians were always on a need to know basis.
