‘Silly’ and ’pointless’ activities, she had learned in the last year, were actually some of the most fun. Things where you might get a little trail dust, or check out the zoo while eating ice cream cones, random and inane little things that were gloriously fun and things she missed growing up and never realized.
Or of not skipping lunches to work and instead grabbing, when she could, lunch for the both of them and bringing them by if he was free to eat with her. Or, if they had time, actual lunch somewhere where they could talk about nothing and be just fine.
After a soft bubble of laughter, she nodded in false solemnity. “Oh yes, such a dreary,” Az pressed a kiss to his lips, butterfly soft and with absolutely no substance before she was moving away again. “Duty, but one must do it, I suppose.” This time when she leant forward, pressing against him almost teasingly, her lips caressed the side of his jaw. One finger absently twirling an ever wild curl.
