Jean loved his job and was very dedicated to his equine charges, but he couldn't imagine constantly putting them before everything. Not that his job was as important as Az's. It wasn't, at least in the greater scheme of things. And really, he couldn't fathom, nor really wanted to have that sort of responsibility. He was all to happy to be a working stiff. He had no idea how she did it, but really, she was Az and there was very little the woman couldn't accomplish if she set her mind to it.
He thought her family's thinking was entirely backwards. Nothing was more important than family. As for money, it definitely wasn't more important than family.
Giddy was likely going to be their default state for awhile. Jean hoped nothing else would happen on this trip to dispel their euphoria. But they probably weren't going to be that lucky.
