"It's really not," he agreed. "I never wanted to say anything before, because I didn't want to come off as demanding and such. You work too hard Azzie. It's not good for you." And of course, it worried him. Because everyone needed a break every once and a while.
He smiled at her. "That's sounds brilliant," he agreed. This was definitely a good revelation on his rather bad vacation. "You know I'll never complain about more time for the two of us."
It was almost physically painful. He was a terrible liar, he knew it, she knew it and he'd been raised to believe lying was the worst thing he could do. So he just didn't. He'd rather say nothing than lie.
He laughed at that. "And your family could think I'm a gold digger," he reminded her. "Besides, love, you need a younger bloke to keep up with you. You'd wear out any other man." She could wear Jean out, and he was a big strapping young man who was used to hard physical labour and chasing around his monstrosity of a dog. She might well give a less healthy man a coronary with her demands.
