When he saw the slight, almost smile on Gor’s face, Slav did not have the heart to tell him that Nik had been the one to explain the whole ‘Chibi Moon’ reference to him. He had always been a bit too creeped out by anime to look at it longer than a second to close the screen or change the website. Something about tiny, little girl looking things, not attractive to him.
Slav was completely ignorant of the fact that Gor was purposefully manipulating him. Then again, he was Captain Oblivious for a reason. Besides, the Littlest often got his way when he broke out the pathetic card, and Slav had still yet to catch on to the fact that he sometimes did it on purpose.
It did earn him a moment of eye contact, which was rare indeed, but Gor was off not meeting his eyes again.
Uncomfortable over the fact that the Littlest was already talking like the world had ended and they were about to sail over the edge of the world, Slav shifted in place. “We are not doomed.” The statement came out firm, as Slav refused to see any other option. “I don’t really know what’s gonna happen, but we’re not doomed, so stop saying that.” He took a breath, “Look, if Bianca and Louis can make us stick together cause we had to deal with them harping and pecking at us all the time, we can stick together on our own. We just…” his voice trailed off for a moment. “We just have to work on it now, I guess.”
The momentary bit of fire faded, leaving Slav the eighteen year old kid who had just lost his parents, just had his hero worship of the Oldest broken, and felt ignored by his brothers in general. Not that he would admit that last part. “We’re not doomed,” this time the repetition was softer, and as much to himself as to his brother.
