Gor was immeasurably pleased, the sort of emotion that only immaturity could really bring. He wasn't simply pleased, he was smug, because he knew Slav felt like crap now, and, in that moment, Gor even imagined his older brother deserved it.
That feeling lasted for about two minutes. It was partly Gor's own sense of morality suddenly seizing hold of him again (accompanied by insecurity and the fact that he had been babied and that he truly did rely on his older brothers), as well as Riff's secret code. It was a silly thing, but he found himself smiling at the computer screen.
He knew it was geeky -- and that was what made it seem so much better.
Still, Gor would have stayed in his room and sulked all day had not the sound of shattered glass not caught his ear. He looked up, blinked a minute, then cautiously opened the door to his room. The way their suite was designed, Gor could see into Slav's suite when his door was opened...and, right now, it was.
Oh. Great.
A sense of guilt overwhelmed him. His nature was to run from conflict -- and this was definitely on the conflicting side of conflict. But he had been an ass -- and he knew it, and that held him to the door frame momentarily.
He couldn't play the baby forever, could he?
"Y-you okay?" Gor asked, the stutter evident. Even with his brothers, he reverted to the stutter in times of crisis.
