Ella looked a Chelsea's legs and noticed that they were skinny, presumably from muscle deterioration. She saw scars from her accident. She rubbed her hands down Chelsea's legs, knowing that she couldn't feel it, but she needed to see it. She looked up at Chelsea, her face soft with understanding. "This doesn't change anything for me. This is part of you - a part of your life, your pain. We all have scars. I know that's cliche, but it's also the truth."
Wanting to make sure she got her point across, Ella grabbed Chelsea's chin. "This does not change anything for me," she repeated, her voice strong with emphasis. She put her other hand over Chelsea's heart. "What I like is you. The person in here," Ella tapped her hand against Chelsea's chest.
