The priest nodded thoughtfully. Finally, he offered, "I think you know what has to be done, Cath, and I trust you will find a way to do it." He offered him a smile. "Trust in the Lord to guide you, and He will protect you."
Smile growing, he added, "And if the Lord seems a little slow to act, then I will do what I can. You have my word on that." Peter didn't think it would be necessary, but he wanted Cath to know that he was rooting for him.
"If it would make you -- and Mae -- feel better, I would be happy to sit in. And the Chapel -- and my office -- are always at your disposal."
