Gregory had often offered words of comfort to people who had lost a loved one through death, but this was a little different. No one knew what had happened to the people who had just disappeared. It was entirely possible they could still be alive. They might even be better off than the people who remained on the ship; for all Gregory knew, they might have been mystically transported back to their normal lives.
