Gor's laugh was quite sudden. It sounded awkward, as though Gor himself weren't expecting it to burst forth himself. Still, the laugh sounded somehow unnatural -- or, perhaps that was the cynicism in it.
"No," he told him. It was close, but replace "somewhat distant" with "so wrapped up in screaming at each other they never had time to even think about their children" and "a lot of the time" with "always."
Slinging an arm over the rail, he stared out over the endless ocean. "Doesn't matter." Not anymore. "It's not like you can take it back."
