"They're kids who grew up during a war. Worse than we did," Liam frowned. "Believe me, I'm with you. Mine is in this just as much as the others. They haven't been children in a long time..." It was something he hated admitting. It meant that he as a parental had failed to keep them safe. It meant that the community had failed in doing the same. But when you grew up in war and it came knocking on your door, you either fought or surrendered. Edgar had actually told him that once.
"We can start reaching out, and getting word around," Liam nodded. "They need to get safe."
"It's possible you know them, but I wouldn't be much of a resistance organizer if I just let everything out," he shrugged. "But I'm almost certain that he'll want to see you. If only to plan. We have a lot to do and much of it is going to take time."
Edgar's reasons for coming back now... that concerned Liam. If it was just because of the war, that would be one thing. But he wanted to know. "Edgar... why now? Why come back now? Why not earlier?" Goodness knew they'd needed the assistance then too.
