Who Alastair & Charlie
What Alastair has some truths to drop
When 9/18; evening
Where The Burrow
Rating Low, probably
After speaking briefly with his father, Alastair closed his journal and tossed it into his bag. With Delilah safe with Rook and Bones, he couldn't hide any longer. Perhaps it was worse to understand that he had been using Charlie as a means to an end than it was to be oblivious of it, but no matter what he knew this conversation would hurt. Unfortunately, he had to have it. The guilt was mounting and he couldn't live in the same house with Charlie and his whole family, especially with their kindness toward him. Not when he didn't deserve it. He sighed and made his way out to the gardens, pulling his sweater tightly around him to fight off the evening chill that was already rearing its head. He stared out into the darkness and sighed deeply. He didn't deserve someone like Charlie. He never had. Not the first time and definitely not now. Even if he gave the Death Eaters nothing, the intent had been there initially, and his reasons for reconnecting with the other man had not been pure. Not the way it was now. He loved Charlie, but he couldn't take back what he'd done and what he was. He didn't expect Charlie to want to be with someone who had deceived him to get what he wanted. Yet, he was having trouble bringing himself to actually talking to Charlie about it. He knew his boyfriend had figured out there was something wrong, but with Delilah's safety assured he had nothing to hide behind. He should be overjoyed, but he was still lost in thought and withdrawn. Alastair was a decent liar on good days, but not to Charlie. He couldn't keep lying to him. |
