It had been well over a week since he'd last seen Meg. He'd woken up, in the aftermath of their post-coital 'cuddling' is what he believed it was called, to find Meg dressed and trying to find that courage to leave. It was something he should have expected, although deep down, if he were honest with himself, he did expect it. When they got close, she would withdraw from him and he'd even brought it up, as something he noticed and questioned her about it. But even in knowing this, he didn't expect she would have pulled away from him after he'd made love to her for the first time and told her he loved her. He'd been human for a month now, stuck in this town for the same and in that time he'd gotten used to Meg's presence. Not simply because he'd relied on her, but because she was a presence he most wanted around him. Sam and Dean were of importance to him and he wished to repair, at least from his point of view, that friendship with them, but he also had that interest in exploring what he felt for Meg. He'd never had the chance to do so before, certainly not when he'd been an angel, because he had no idea how to process those feelings and this, his humanity, was that chance to do so. But he had to find Meg to do so, first. Castiel had gone to Meg's home each and every day during those nine days that passed, almost always without fail at the same time, typically in the early afternoon and each day, she wasn't there. If he'd still been an angel, he could have found her much easier, he was certain of it, so he had some frustration with that fact. Oakdell wasn't terribly large, at least in comparison to the whole of Earth and because they could not leave, he knew she must still be in town. She was simply hiding to the best of her abilities and that made it much more difficult to pinpoint her location. He'd managed to still go through his day-to-day routines without her there, although he'd nearly ran out of food and had to go fetch his own groceries at some point and because of his desperation to find her, had nearly 'attacked' a woman because from behind and at a distance, she looked like Meg. When he grabbed her arm, he realized very quickly she wasn't Meg and had to apologize profusely and quickly leave the store with only one of his bags of food. It was because of this why he needed to head back into town, to scrounge up more groceries. He was starting out later in the day, purposeful this time, because he hoped when he stopped by Meg's home she might be there. When he passed by the pool on his way out of the apartment complex, the last person he thought he would have seen was there, that he actually had to stop and do a double take. Confusion quickly turned to relief, although from the way her jacket and boots were strewn to the side and she was lounging in one of the chairs by the pool, he had to wonder about how long she'd been sitting there.
