THE CULPRITS BEHIND THE DESTRUCTION OF ASH TURNER'S GALLERY ARE CAUGHT AND BROUGHT TO PUBLIC JUSTICE TO SERVE AS A REMINDER OF WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU STEP OUT OF LINE.WARNINGS Execution? • STATUS Complete
This was a show of power and anyone with two brain cells left in their undead heads could see that.
The three Kindred who had been responsible for the destruction of Ash Turner’s gallery and the death of the security guards he had hired had been found. They had been sloppy about it enough that this sentence could be justified. Destruction of Kindred property. Death of kine that had been left to be discovered. And finally, when they had been found it had been in a kine bar boosting about their Kindred deeds.
Still, there were other ways that this could have been handled—such as exile or even calling a hunt and allowing the Kindred of the city to deal with them—but with everything else that was going on, the Prince needed to make a show of power, one that he intended to make through his Sheriff. Sheriffs weren’t also called executioners for nothing.
In many ways it was hard to fault the Prince for doing so. While these three had been Camarilla looking to make a point towards the actions of the upper crest, it could have easily been Anarch. In fact, the behavior of these Kindred, they might as well have been Anarchs. That was not an issue that they currently needed when they had things like a dead primogen problem.
It was a flex of power and a show of it that Amadeus had no problems agreeing to which is what Lucian needed. Otherwise, the Sheriff could have made this a lot easier and quicker on the guilty party. Beheading or even being staked out for the sun would likely be kinder. Feeling like he had his own point to make, that was not going to be the case. There would be no tender mercies from the Sheriff today.
The prisoners were brought into the room to stand in the middle of it where Amadeus waited. Lucian and some of his court sat off to the back of the room as if a king holding court and other members of the Camarilla filled up the rest of the space. Anyone who had wished to be there had not been denied access.
“For crimes against their fellow Kindred, the loss of their legacies, and for breaking the Masquerade, the Kindred known as Zach Maslin, Drew Cullen, and—” the announcing herald paused and looked at the female Kindred as if unsure he was reading this right “—Duffy have been condemned to their final death.”
As he stepped back, Amadeus stepped forward. He didn’t even bother asking them to kneel for he knew they wouldn’t and it would also be giving them a manner of respect that he didn’t feel like giving right now. Instead he snapped his hand close in a fist and as he did all three of them were forcefully brought down to their knees, unable to rise again.
“You’ve been deemed unworthy of continuing to be one of the Blood and so that blood will be taken from you.”
It was a spell that was normally used on kine for a Tremere to feed from a distance but Amadeus had learned how to twist it and use it against Kindred in a much deadlier manner. He could have just caused their blood to boil until they died from it but no one needed to hear the screams that would bring.
Raising up his hand, he slashed it through the air and has he did, cuts across each of the guilty Kindred’s throats appeared. Blood already started to pour out of the.cuts but as the elder Tremere started to curl his fingers into a fist, the blood started to come faster and faster. Even as the vampire’s reached up and clutched their hands around like that would stop it, it still flowed as if a tap had been turned on. What should have been healable before causing final death instead kept bleeding until they managed to bleed out in a matter of moments. When that last drop of precious vitae fell to the floor, the withered husks that had once been Kindred collapsed in the mass puddle of Blood on the floor.
Kindred were—after all things considered—made of nothing but the Blood and not water like they had been as kine and once you pulled all that away, all you were left with was a shell. They were shells that Amadeus looked dispassionately upon now before he gave one final flick of his wrists to cause the bodies to combust and start burning away.
He turned to Lucian and gave a slight nod of his head before turning around and walking out of the room. As he did, he didn’t look over at where his Hounds stood but instead kept going.
The bodies in the mess of blood laid there and started to turn to ash and dust until Lucian gestured for someone to see about cleaning the mess up.
