By now, he really should have had a system when Mab was near him. Rook was easy, there was something in him that just knew when the Gangrel was around, but Mab? She was completely different. She knew he couldn't sense her, even with all the magic that was permanently marked into his skin. Her magic, no less. Shouldn't that have given him some insight on her, as well? Apparently not. Maybe it was something as simple as making sure there was a bell in every single bit of her clothing? Nah, too much work.
The song was about half way through it's third run of the night when arms appeared around his waist, cutting off the next line of the song he was taking a breath to sing. There wasn't even a reason to wonder just who had caught him, there was only one person it could be. Especially with nails that fabulous.
She didn't even give him the chance to greet her, not with that lick along the curve of his neck. As always, a shiver went through him at that but he was laughing a little, too. "You're earlier than I expected, Mistress." His voice showed the happy grin that she couldn't see from this angle, James' hands going to gently pet her arms. Of course, with the way he had been acting, he hadn't really needed to say anything, but who didn't try to explain themselves out of embarrassment?
