Who: McGee and Abby What: Date night When: Evening Where: Their apartment Rating: TBD Open to: Only them for now.
McGee had been trying to do as much as possible to help Abby deal with what had happened to her. He knew not to coddle her, not to make it seem like she was a victim, but he also knew that she was in fact one. Each day that passed, helping her get to work and back and handle just simply leaving the apartment. While McGee wanted to take her out for dinner, give Abby a night to help her smile again, he knew she wasn't ready for something so public. McGee finally settled on making a special dinner for her and watching a movie together in the apartment.
The one reason more than any other that he wanted to do this for her was because it was the first day since Abby had been taken that she had gone in to work on her own. While he offered to go with her, was even ready to go when she normally would have left, she insisted on going on her own. He knew that it would have been a lot for her, so he wanted her to come home to a peaceful place where dinner, drinks, and whatever else she wanted would be ready and waiting for her. The only thing he wanted to do was to help her relax.
McGee decided while he could cook, Abby would most likely like something other than microwave popcorn and various other instant delights, so McGee ordered just about everything he could think of that Abby would like. Once dinner was taken care of McGee then went about making the apartment look romantic. While he was certain Tony would make some joke about all the trouble he was going to, McGee didn't care. He placed candles around the apartment, carefully lighting them and then turning off the overhead lights so only the candles lit the room. Once everything was settled now all he had to do was wait for Abby to get home.
