Who: Bruce and Claudia What: A date When A day or two before her kidnapping at 7 p.m. Where: Salvatore's Open: Just to them, unless someone who works at Salvatore's wants to jump in for a tag or two Rating: TBD, but I'm guessing low.
A simple net post had led to a project, a friend...and a date. A date at a fancy Italian place with a guy who even asked what her favorite flower was. Claudia's dating experience was pretty lacking, growing up obsessed with getting your brother back when everyone else thought he was dead and getting labeled crazy for your efforts tended to do that, not to mention your job being a gigantic government secret but Bruce...well, he sounded kind of great.
Their conversation had been the first truly good thing for her on the island. Claudia only hoped she didn't mess it up, that she lived up to his mental image of her. Sure, like he said he was old enough to be her father... How old was he exactly? But it didn't really matter. He seemed to be kind, smart, and utterly and completely adorable. Somehow, Claudia had managed to make a good enough impression on him that he'd asked her out without ever technically meeting her. Technically... it could be an act, a line to get her out and let her guard down. Some guys she absolutely would not put it past, but Bruce didn't seem to be the type. Even on the chance that he was, the guy was still worth a decent shot. She had nothing to lose.
The place was definitely not a place you could go casual. She'd chosen a pair of form fitting black slacks, dark grey slip-ons, and a purple blouse with a dark grey vest over it. Her jewelry consisted of silver stud earrings, a silver bracelet, and a silver chain with a small hoop that hung just under her neck. They were the nicest things she'd had on the island and she hadn't really had a lot of time to go shopping...afterward, if it went well she definitely would make the effort to get a few more outfits for...special occasions.. After moving between pinning it up and letting it down, she went with the latter, lightly curling it.
Since being late on a first date was a bad foot to start off on, at six minutes until seven she stood outside the door to Salvatore's, her hand nervously gripping the handle of the right side. Keep it together, Claud. It's only a date.. Footsteps behind her. Someone else was coming. She stepped through the door, holding it for the couple coming through and after exchanging a quiet "Thank you" and "you're welcome" she let the door fall shut and scanned the waiting area for Bruce's face. If not, there was a chance he'd already been seated or just hadn't shown up yet and luckily, Claudia knew his last name.
