The ocean waves that rolled close by calmed Phoenix in a way that her home in California never could. She loved the chaoticness of her rather large family, but there were times when the young girl wanted peace and solitude. Since living on the island, the beach was her favorite place to think and settle her mind. It eased her worry too since she missed her parents, but she was glad that her brother was nearby so she felt like she was not totally alone. It also gave her the time to work on her art. On this particular day, she had spent a better part of the morning painting the landscape of the ocean and everything else around it. After he had called her beautiful she had thought about him off and on since they talked and wondered if his words were really true in the fact he thought she was. It was true that she lacked experience with guys in general and had not had her share of boyfriends, but she hoped she would someday. Shaking the thoughts from her head, she walked by a few shops until she came across Caritas. She had not had the luxury of seeing what the place was like and walked inside and looked around curiously. Running a hand through her red hair she took the nearest seat, and took in the activity around her. She turned toward the entrance as she heard the sound of approaching footsteps...
