Being pregnant meant getting less and less sleep. As she laid next to Theon, even in sleep she had the sense that something was wrong. She knew that Theon was dreaming of home, and last time it had worried her, so while she slept, she kept her focus on him just in case something happened. She could feel him tossing and turning and knew that he was going to have another dream. And if he was, she was prepared for the aftermath.
As he woke up and sat up, she woke a few minutes later and sat up with him. She brushed her honey colored hair over her shoulder and took Theon’s hand in her own and saw the bruise. Wha could have happened? Did he go into battle? Needless to say, she was worried. Then she saw the tears on his face and her heart broke for him, wanting to ease his pain. “Theon? Hey look at me love. You’re safe. Tell me what happened. Blue eyes locked on him as he finally faced her. He would see the worry despite how emotional she had been the past few months written on her face.
