Jaqueline had been lost in thought when he had entered the room and his words, although not all that loud, startled her. While the young girl was usually on guard and would have heard him coming her thoughts had her distracted of late. While he was very much like her father that she had been living with before arriving on the island, they had been pushed back to square one and she was worried she would say or do something wrong. Her brain told her that was silly as she knew he would never abandon her or hurt her, it didn't stop the worry.
Hearing his words Jaqueline was pulled from her own worries and thoughts and jumped to attention. "Oh...." She said turning to face him. "I don't know, I just thought we could do something." She didn't want to say the obvious which was that she thought it would help the two get to know each other better. "Anything you would like to do is fine with me." She added wanting to make the whole situation as painless for him as possible.
