After a few minutes which seemed like hours, the coolness of the towel broke through April's unconscious state. With a groan, she managed - with difficulty - to pry her eyes open with a flutter. "W...what's g-going on?"she asked with a slight slur, not quite fully conscious yet.
As she came more to her senses, April realized she was lying on the stone floor of the restaurant. "Oh no." she groaned as it dawned on her what had happened. "How long...ooow!" a mild pain shot through her entire body as she tried to sit up too fast, then collapsed back to the floor. "How...how l-long was I out?" she asked, a little breathy. Closing her eyes and taking a deep, steadying breath, April tried again - more slowly this time - to push herself stiffly into a sitting position, grimacing as pain shot through her head and waist.
