It had been months of solitude other than the brief moments where Riley or one of her siblings would drag Kyra out into the outside world. And each time they did, waves of panic shot through her and she would find herself back in the confines of her apartment and hide there with her legs drawn up until the anxiety past. She knew that this was not healthy and due to the family she came from, she knew that she had to defeat the fear that seemed to consume her. What she went through was scary enough, though the nightmares of that night were less than what they were a few months ago, but it was time she started to let go of what held her back. And that had to start with her venturing out of the apartment and longer than five minutes.
Venturing out of her room, Kyra gazed at the door that separated her from what lay outside. Dressed in a pair of jeans and a hunter green shirt, she ran a hand through her blue hair and then walked slowly to the door and placed her hand on it. She felt the wave of anxiety and stood there for several moments before she opened the door. Waving her wand that she always kept with her, she made a note appear on the other side of the door for Riley to let him know where she was going and not to worry. Taking a deep breath she stepped into the hallway and ignoring the panic that settled in, she took the elevator and soon found herself in the hotel lobby. Closing her eyes to calm herself for several moments, Kyra fought to not look over her shoulder at unseen force and finally stepped into the warm sunlight and felt a wave of peace take over her. Taking this as a good sign, she walked with no direction in mind until she found herself at the beach.
The forest lay just beyond that, and panic once again settled into her but she fought against it, or at least tried to as she walked along the sand, the sounds of the waves and the cries of the seagulls filling her ears.It made her think of the times she spent at Shell Cottage and smiled at the memories she had with Victoire and Dominique and their brother Louis as children. Finding a shady spot close to the water, but far enough away to not get wet, she took a seat and with her wand, she conjured a roll of parchment and a quill to appear, and it wasn't long before she began to write down her feelings of the past few months. One hand drifted to the sand and lightly let a handful sift through her fingers. The wind blew around her, causing her long hair to blow around her, the concentration and peace she felt finally settling in, and her fears melting away and her thoughts now focused on the man she shared an apartment with, still uncertain about her feelings for him. Even though she was sure she had fallen hard for him. With these thoughts in her head, she was so into her work that she did not hear someone approach her...
