Running a hand over his face, John sighed, glanced at the framed photograph on his desk with a silent "good morning," then left the bullpen to requisition a smartboard from the tech clerk. He brought it back to his desk and with a fleeting glance to his partner's empty one, cued up various statement files and scene photos from the three murders, and underlaid it with a map of Boston. He had the time before his first meeting and the other detective assignments were already passed on, and it also gave him some productivity while he waited for his partner. There were plenty of things to discuss with the man and ideas to bounce back in forth, but John was soon absorbed in his task to try to look for something specific, some overlap in the lifestyles and body locations of the three victims - in the last places they were seen and the possible routes to their death sites.
