Even though she was still going to see Gio and Rory whenever she darn well pleased, it still felt as though she was moving to another country. Amelia did her best to not grab a hold of Gio while he helped her pack what she had strung out in his bedroom and hug the crap out of him. The urge was there whenever the kid would pass her. But she did her best to keep herself busy by packing away all of her art supplies.
Just think, she’ll be able to spread out and paint in an open area. It brought a smile to her face. But, when that smile came, she couldn’t help but frown. Through this whole process of packing stuff up and calling Frank a day before to warn him the storm was coming made her anxious. She never thought Gio or Rory were kicking her out, though she couldn’t get over the feeling that they didn’t stop her from doing this. But why would they? She was a force to reckon with when she wanted something, and not a lot of people wanted to fight with her when she set her mind on whatever it was she wanted.
It’s going to be a lot of fun, she kept telling herself as she carried out boxes toward her VW Bug. There wasn’t much room left in the back seat to squeeze anymore boxes. Thank goodness this was the last one. Amelia was doing her best to make room for it and not exhaust herself in the process. Then she thought about the other boxes and things that were locked away in storage. The thought of all that junk caused her to hang her head and let out a heavy sigh before straighten up at the sound of footsteps that were Gio's. “I think that’s all. Well, that was all in your bedroom,” she added after a little pause. All that crap in storage made her frown. “Are you ready to go?” she asked then, giving Gio a smile with her car keys dangling out in front of both of them. “The adults await our arrival!”
Was it okay to feel like shaking like your on an iceberg that was about to break because how hard you were shaking? Cause Amelia felt like doing that right now while she was trying to drive toward Frank's place. Why she was so nervous was beyond her, but she kept trying to tell herself that things were going to be okay and that she wasn't going to break their brains while she was staying there for how ever long they wanted her. "Do you think it's weird that I'm moving in with my Dad?" she asked Gio randomly, not glancing at him because she needed to use her side mirror. The good thing about this little trip was she wasn't setting anything on fire in the car. The passing thought made her snort. Amelia didn't care if Gio heard it or not.
Coming upon Frank's place was easy now that she's been to it two-three times. Finding a parking space close enough was tough because she didn't like parallel parking. She managed. Turning the car off, she sat back in her seat and stared off, at nothing in particular. She had to center herself before facing the wicked witch and her flying monkey (she was thinking that out of love). Wonder what they are thinking about right now.
"I'm going to call and tell them we're here." Hopefully she didn't scare Gio by randomly talking after the prolonged silence she caused. Frank's number was on speed dial, so it didn't take her long to speak to him and tell him they were right outside. Now, here was the challenge: getting out of the car.
