Tessa hadn't told no one she was coming back. Not that there was a lot of people to tell. Kate of course but Tessa hadn't wanted to tell her on the grounds that she may have tried talking her out of her plan before she went through with it. It was the one crazy thing in her life that she had ever done, throwing her career into the wind to begin a new one that she may or may not succeed at. She of course did not tell her father. Her and Kate weren't even sure if he was in Boston anymore. Perhaps she could have told Rory and she did plan on telling him she was back, but somethings were best done in person then over the phone. Considering she had just thrown away the job that she had basically left him for, she didn't want him to hear she was back from anyone but her. Which made him her second stop. First she had to see Kate.
There was two reasons for seeing Kate first. The first being that if Kate found out she had went to see her ex before her sister she'd probably add to the body total but killing her. The second was that she wanted to make sure her sister was okay. Tessa's dreams where disturbing and she didn't like the fact that her sister would be looking into these murders. Even if she wasn't assigned to the murders, she knew her sister would look into them just for the story anyway.
These were the reasons that she was pulling up in front of her sister's apartment with a loaded car. Instead of taking a uhaul she had packed everything but her furniture into the car and sold her apartment as furnished. It was with that money that she'd buy a new place here. For tonight she planned on sleeping on her sister's couch. Now that she was here the thought of seeing her sister in mere minutes filled her with excitement. The moment the car stopped, she undid her seat belt and stepped out. A smile already forming on her face she hurried up the steps of Kate's building and knocked on the door.
