a night of making the rock. Who: Galen Howard and anyone else! OPEN! What: Friday night bands at the Misty Moon! When: Friday, April 15, any time after 9 PM Where: The Misty Moon, downtown Boston Rating: PG-13 for... uh, a rock show in a bar, c'mon.
Rudy was used to Galen's weekend buzz by now. Actually, he'd coined that very term - 'weekend buzz' - weeks ago, when it became apparent that Galen's Friday shifts were carried out with a noticeable anticipating, excited energy. The same would be said for Saturdays, too, although with some added hungover exhaustion. A buzz like that didn't wear off overnight, not for Galen.
Saturday was still a day away, though, and work was over. He was at the bar by seven in order to meet with the bands - especially the drummer and bassist he was borrowing from Pallatino and the Sister Knives, Terri and Daphne, whom he swore he was going to kidnap for his own band one day - , get some semblance of a sound check done, and make sure his sweet old guitar wasn't any closer to breaking in two than usual. One all that was done, it was a matter of waiting, mingling and staying psyched. Those things, of course, weren't hard.
As people started filtering into the dim, cozy bar, Galen kept an eye out for familiar faces; at least, those who had told him they were coming. Anticipation remained on a constant flutter inside of him, and he made himself a mental note - oh, these familiar mental notes - to keep his ability from spazzing out.
Tonight, to state the obvious, was going to rock.
((ooc: SO! Comment wherever you like, at whatever point you like - arriving, mid-performance, mid-another band, after Galen's set - and just stick the where/when in the subject line. Mingle around, meet people, have fun, get drunk, throw fire -- wait, no, no, don't do that. Galen will be talking to the audience a lot during his set, so I'll figure out how I'm going to do that tag-wise. But for now, imagine an energetic performance and rawk. Here is a good example of what kind of showmanship you'll see, only... Galen is playing the guitar, and his stand-in bandmates are two badass ladies.
OKAY, I think that's everything. Have fun! I'll probably be spotty on tags for a little bit because hrughrugh finishing a final project this weekend.))
