Deep down, Sebastian wanted to go straight home and stay in for the rest of the night, keep the television and stereo off, and even the thought of turning his cell off was a peaceful thought. But here he was, fixing his black t-shirt before opening the door to the tavern as a couple came walking out, thanking him for being such a sweet gentleman. He gave a thin lipped smile before making sure no one else was blocking the entrance and stepped into the place. This wasn’t the first time he has been here, but it was intriguing to see new faces each time he stopped by.
He spotted David the second he did another sweep of the place, taking out his pack of cigarettes and slipping one thin white stick between his lips before plopping himself down next to the man. The lighter was out and ready to be used, but he held off lighting the end of the stick, and said to David, “I hope you aren’t drunk by now. Your words slurring will get us nowhere.” Sebastian was teasing the other man, of course. Now the lighter came up, the flame appearing with a quick flick, and meeting the end of his cigarette in one happy reunion while his body cringed at the toxins he inhaled.
When the bartender came to his ad he ordered a Samuel Adams: Boston Lager to start the evening with, and while he waited for his beer to appear before him, his attention turned to David, cigarette moving to relax between two fingers. “Where shall we start? We can do the easy ones first or start with the harder ones, whichever route you want to go.” He was looking around for something. The bartender caught his attention when his beer arrived and asked if he had a pen and piece of paper. The big man nodded and moved no more than an inch before producing a pad of paper and a working pen, after Sebastian tested it out by scribbling a circle in the upper corner of the pad.
