A sad smile pulled up the corners of Sidney's mouth. There was something definitely deeper there, something that Sidney had seen one too many times in her short life. Sidney didn't want to pry, because the moment that she did it gave other people permission to do the same. Instead, she figured she could make small talk and try to take Davina's mind off whatever had happened before she was brought here.
Waving a dismissive hand, Sidney shifted slightly on the stool. "It's okay. This place, not this place," she motioned around to the bookstore, "has that effect on everyone I think." Sidney was still trying to adjust, and trying to heal while she was at it.
Regardless of her previous thoughts on share time, Sidney thought that maybe she could at least offer something. "If you want to talk about anything I'm a good listener, and it won't go any further. It's not like I know that many people here anyway." She'd met Rick and his little girl Judith, outside of that? Sidney hadn't made it a point to talk to too many people.
Blame it on the fact that she didn't trust anybody, but Davina was young, and seemed like a sweet girl. She could offer to be a little bit of a help to someone else in need.
