Summary: a Date with Death!
Status: Closed, In progress
Death was an interesting creature. She had a routine, and rules to follow like everyone else, but she found she could break most of them here, in this place. One of those things was indulging in food. She rarely had to really eat, it wasn't necessary, but she liked to anyways. After their interesting conversations on the network she'd invited Loki out to eat. It wasn't a date, not really, but she'd set up a reservation at the Bello anyways. Because she believed in enjoying one's self a little bit. And it gave her an excuse to dress up a little bit. Because she really had no reason to do so. Of course it wasn't anything special - just a light, airy Flowery dress she'd seen once and magicked into place. Bonus? Death didn't need to clothes shop. She just waved her hand and changed her appearance. She'd left her hair down and decided it was a decent day, so she'd slipped into some sandals. Death was a jeans and tank top kind of girl, but sometimes it was fun to put on a dress. Besides, everyone had a notion of what death should look like, and she liked blowing it out of the water with something else entirely. Death liked keeping people on her toes. It was what kept her going here, in a world where things were weird and where she'd been trapped. It still annoyed her, that she was trapped. Who could manage such a feat? Thankfully it wasn't like she wasn't out doing her job either way, she was everywhere all the time. But she was still annoyed. Who had the audacity to do something like that? Why? What purpose? Everyone who tried to trap Death had some kind of agenda. Not that they succeeded or won. She was crafty, wily and old. She could outsmart most people without thinking. Not that she did that often, there was no fun in it. She'd long ago learned that people hated someone being a know it all. It was hard for her to ignore that part of her - the part that knew who was going to die when and how and everything. It was as much a part of her as anything. But she tried to be as human as possible here. It was different. And sometimes she failed. But that wasn't the end of the world. There were things that drove her to be angered or cruel or cold, but most of the people here had never needed to see that side of her. Most were good folk. Although she'd met a few of them before - technically all of them - she tried not to tell them anything. She was not in the habit of telling people what happened to them. It was just not done. She pondered all that as she headed inside the restaurant and was escorted to her table, eyes watching for Loki's arrival. Once she spotted him she'd stand to greet him, a warm smile on her lips. Death was welcoming to everyone. It was a strange trait, but she'd learned hostility got people no where. So she'd spent her time being nice to people, friendly, no matter who they were. |
