Things were relatively back to normal, and for that? Rachel was grateful. The smell of death still clung to the air around Test City, the worst of it was gone however, and Rachel had, admittedly, not been out much. As such, she was becoming stir crazy, and decided that it would be alright if she stepped out for a little while Tuesday morning.
She wanted to grab herself a coffee, and do a little bit of grocery shopping while she was at it. She ate a bowl of granola cereal with vanilla flavored soy milk before heading out. She knew better than to go grocery shopping hungry because everything looked delicious. She dressed in a pair of jean shorts she'd bought, a light pink tank top and a light cardigan to keep the chill of the morning at bay. She slipped on a pair of flats, the best sort of shoes she owned for walking before she yanked her hair up into a ponytail and gathered up the rest of her things.
Going to the cafe in the morning had become routine for Rachel, she'd stop by to grab a coffee on her way back from the gym or just as a treat to herself because everyone deserved a little something special even if that something was overpriced coffee. It'd been over a week since she'd last stepped inside of the crazily decorated place, and honestly she had no idea if they were back up and running. Thankfully they were, and the staff greeted her with smiles before making her what she normally ordered. Rachel gave them a couple of extra dollars for her tip, and then found herself a table near one of the big front windows.
Rachel cradled the cup in between her hands, eyes staring out the window at nothing while her coffee cooled. There was honestly nothing on her mind, nothing that she was worrying over and she still felt good. Better than good actually, she felt great knowing what she knew now, although there were a few things she figured she might want to be concerned about. It wouldn't matter, whatever happened happened. Rachel was a fighter, and things would work out the way they were supposed to.
