Maes would readily admit that he missed sitting around a table with people, just talking, laughing and enjoying good food. Here it was grab whatever one could and even in the station break room he was normally alone. It was what it was, and part of the job he supposed.
At least it gave him time to mull over everything, though if Maes wasn't careful he'd lose himself in his own thoughts. Not that it was a bad thing, per se, it sometimes got him down a little if he let himself dwell too much on certain things.
This, however, was a nice distraction from everything else. He would happily listen to anyone that wanted to talk with him even if it was him that had prompted the conversation.
He smiled as he listened to her talk a little about herself, fork in hand now that he'd plated what food he'd wanted. Pushing his glasses back up his nose with his fingers, Maes was about to take a bite when she mentioned her ability. His fork paused about halfway up to his mouth and he raised a brow at her. Now that was interesting.
"Have you always had this ability?" He asked, glancing over at her before taking a bite finally.
