IC/OOC EVENT: THE MONOLITH SHATTERS (DAY SEVEN)

WHO KNEW CIRI HAD THE CAPABILITY TO DESTROY INDESCRUCTABLE MONOLITHS? A FEW. WHO KNEW WHAT THE CONSEQUENCES ON THIS WORLD WOULD BE? ALMOST NONE.

WHAT CREATURE BEST REPRESENTS THE EYE? THE FEAR OF BEING WATCHED, EXPOSED. THE ENTITIY THAT REPRESENTS UNCOVERING ALL YOUR SECRETS? THE ENTITY THAT KEEPS RECORD OF ALL YOUR FEARS AND WORST MOMENTS? THE EYE HAS HAD MANY AVATARS OVER THE CENTURIES...

BUT WHAT COMES OUT IS PRIMORDIAL, UNDEAD. THE BEHOLDER'S NAME IS LOST TO THE AGES. THE MONOLITH DESTROYED, THE EYE'S AVATAR HAS COME TO GET ITS BLOODY VENGENCE.

IF THE BATTLE IS WON, WHAT HAPPENS? WILL THE MONOLITH BE BACK NEXT WEEK? WILL THE BEHOLDER? IF THE BEHOLDER DOES NOT COME BACK, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR THE INJURIED AND DEAD?

AND IF THE BATTLE IS LOST... HOW MUCH WORSE WILL THINGS GET?

SAM is in Silver's body, which isn't actually going to hamper him TOO much - both of them are standard issue humans (no super powers) and he's going to get his wings on to fly around so it will just be a slight adjustment in centre of gravity. He'll be largely doing ranged attacks with guns, and with an injury roll of 26 and a damage roll of 77 he's pretty successful all up.

LAURA is absolutely showing her "looks baby, can kill you" status here. She's a close combat fighter but much faster and more agile than original flavour Wolverine but since it's not limited to staying on the ground she'll pretty quickly decide that she shouldn't be on the ground either and demand someone throws her up. (Thanks Natasha!) Then she can use her claws to alternately attack it and help her keep her grip on top of the beholder with nary a care for her own injuries.

IANTO isn't typically a strong fighter since all he has is a handgun that he rarely needs to fire, but this week is the first week he's also a wizard*! (*level 1) He can cast the fire bolt cantrip as much as he likes but that's a cantrip, and he has two spell slots for a magic missile variant (he also knows sleep but he isn't sure whether it will affect a beholder so he's sticking with magic missile), but I also rolled some dice to find out which page is open in his fancy spellbook and the answer is enervation which is actually super useful. Unfortunately, the beholder's anti-magic ability is going to thwart him - the spell does basically nothing and he gets batted aside like a ragdoll. Ouch.
