"Right..." He'd never assumed fidelity on Jack's part, but the abstract notion and the straightforward implication were two different things.
"So...was this convenience then?" he asked softly. "I mean...maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying...I know it can't have been easy on your impulses...the fact that we haven't been intimate recently..." He closed his eyes. The mention of John certainly didn't help matters. "I don't even know what I'm trying to say here, Jack. I just...I meant what I said. I'm yours...only yours. And sometimes I'm not sure..." He was never really certain it was the same for Jack, that he was the only one for Jack. And he wanted that.
Then Jack spoke again and he looked at him with concern, his own worries pushed aside. "What is it, Jack?" he asked. "Are you alright?"
