Peter could count on one hand the number of times he remembered actually seeing Gabe cry, before. Once when they were kids, and Gabe's dog had died. Once when they were in middle school and he was humiliated at school. Once when a girl he had been dating had broken up with him. Again when their father died. And the last time that Peter could remember seeing Gabriel cry had been at home, after Claire pulled the piece of glass out of his head, bringing him back to life. And now, now he knew that Gabriel had been crying again, and that was enough proof for Peter to know that things were really bad. His brother didn't cry for no reason, no matter what anyone else might have said about him or about their family.
This was bad.
"I think I have an idea," Peter answered softly, burying his face in Gabe's shoulder for a long moment or two before he managed to speak again, looking up at his brother. "What do you mean, fall apart?"
