Veronica rubbed the back of her neck, she'd just got through with another training session on the roof with Peter. She was still feeling the sting from Logan sleeping with Madison but she couldn't allow herself to fall apart. She walked into her room and TKed the door shut behind her.
Sylar smirked, having been waiting for her to come back. He was reclining on his bed, and he casually flicked a hand at her, pinning her back against the door. "Hello, roomie." he said.
Veronica hadn't been expecting that, and she was not amused. "I don't want to play with you right now." She said, trying to fight the TK hold that he had on her. Why did she have to be stuck with this psycho for a roommate? Of all the people she could be stuck with...even the clown would be better.
"Gee, isn't that too bad?" Sylar said, smirking. He laughed and looked amused at her struggling. "You know, the only thing that's kept me from taking your power before now is not wanting to be killed by your mentor, but now that's not an issue."
Veronica didn't know exactly what that meant, but it didn't sound good. She kept trying to break free of his hold on her. If he had her power...that would be really bad for the rest of them. "Let me down now." She demanded.
Sylar snorted. "Or what, Blondie?" he said, smirking. "What're you going to do to me?" He brought one hand up, cutting into her forehead with his TK.
Veronica gasped as she felt the warm red liquid dripping down her face. He was going to kill her. She was only eighteen and she was going to die. She was frozen, she couldn't do anything. She squeezed her eyes shut, whimpering.
Sylar smirked at the sound of her whimpering. "That's right, scream for me, little girl." he said. As much as the small part of him that was still Gabriel cringed, he enjoyed this part so much.
"Fuck you." Veronica said, she was not going to scream. She was not going to give him the satisfaction. She could not believe she was just gonna die here like this. It didn't seem right, but that didn't much matter anymore. She bit down on her lip, trying to keep from crying out.
Sylar cut deeper into her skin, cutting through her scalp and moving on to the skull. It was tedious, delicate work, but oh, the payoff was so rich. He smirked, feeling his bloodlust increase the more that blood poured down her face.
Unfortunately for Sylar, Peter was on his way to Veronica's room. He felt a little agitated, like something was going to happen, but he hadn't gotten any visions to give him any clues. He headed to Veronica's room and stopped when he saw her back against the door through the little window on the door. "Shit!" he gasped, knowing that meant she was in trouble. He moved over a little and easily phased through the wall, his eyes widening at the sight of Sylar cutting into Veronica. Unfortunately for him, Sylar had heard his exclamation and was ready for him. He felt himself slammed back into the wall and he growled, trying to break Sylar's hold.
Veronica knew Peter was too late and now he was going to have to watch her die. They'd gotten pretty close since they'd been here. She trusted Peter, and she thought of him as a friend. She didn't think that about most people right now, so that was saying something. She whimpered, just praying this was finally over soon.
Sylar laughed and smirked at Peter. "You're too late, Petrelli." he said. "Nice try though." He tightened his TK hold on Peter and focused his attention on Veronica, opening her head up and then poking at her brain.
"You bastard!" Peter yelled, struggling against Sylar's hold. "I'll kill you!" It wasn't right. Veronica was too young to die like that. "Don't! Take my power instead!"
Sylar snorted and shook his head, glancing at Peter. "Tempting offer, Peter, but no, I'd rather make you watch her die."
Veronica whimpered again, she was still conscious through this. How could anyone be this cruel. Why hadn't she died yet? It hurt far more than anything she'd ever felt before, and she couldn't stand it. "Just do it already!" she screamed.
Sylar wasn't startled by the fact that Veronica hadn't died yet. He figured she must've come in contact with Claire at some point or absorbed it from Peter. He finished looking at her brain and smirked. "Yes. I feel more powerful."
Veronica closed her eyes once more, and they didn't open yet. To any observer it would seem like she was dead for good. She didn't know how anyone could survive this.
Sylar smirked, finished with her, and he let her body drop to the floor. He knew that she would appear dead to Peter, and he turned to face his nemesis. "Look at that, Peter." he said. "You've failed another person. You couldn't save Veronica, just like you couldn't save Sandra. That must be so terrible for you."
Peter growled and shook his head, glaring at him. "I will kill you, Sylar." he said.
