What: Hanging out with the horses
When: Tuesday, mid-morning
Where: The stables

Jamie was tired of people. He'd spent so many years of his life working alone that being around a bunch of them all the time was starting to wear his nerves rather thin. Add to that his constant inability to control his dupes, when they came and where they went, it was a recipe for a very short-tempered man. He knew the mansion was almost to the point where people could move back in again and there would be more room to breathe, but it wasn't soon enough. He needed to get out of the secondary facilities and just get away from the constant chatter of a dozen or more people.
It was warm out for a winter day in February. Things were melting and the sky was giving them a light rain instead of snow for once. Jamie didn't really care. He wasn't too effected by the cold, and the fresh air felt good going in and out of his lungs. He trudged through slushy snow, following a path of footprints that led somewhere he wasn't familiar with. It wasn't exactly the way back to the mansion, but it wasn't too far off. Coming upon the stables, he smirked and shook his head. Of course this place had horses. Why wouldn't it? It had everything else.
There was a risk that someone was inside, but Jamie didn't care. Had he known this place existed, this would have been where he stayed. He'd grown up on a farm and had more horses than he did friends. They were his comfort, even if he hadn't been around them for a while.
Opening the side door, the unmistakable sweet scent of honey and grains hit him like a welcome home embrace. It was warm and dry inside, and Jamie shed his jacket to hang it on the tack pegs near the door that held bridles and bits. He rolled his sleeves up and walked down the center aisle between the stalls, noting wet footprints on the concrete. Either someone was there or had been very recently.
Some of the horses poked their heads out to see who had come in, some of them chewing on hay. The nearest one, a blonde Palomino, caught Jamie's eye first and had him smiling as he walked closer to the stall. The placard next to the door read "Kizmit", and Jamie reached up a hand to stroke the velvet of the horse's nose. "Kizmit," he repeated softy. "Is that your name?" He ran a hand down Kizmit's cheek and his neck. "Aren't you a pretty girl?"
