Who: Alexus and Mina Where: The Fairmont Hotel When: 2 Months before the game started What: Alexus asks Mina to be his Pomme de Sang
Clad in leather boyshort panties and a matching black bra, the young wolf lounged back on a stool , one leg propped up on the bar. Although dressed for work, technically Mina was off duty. But John and Rafael were working as Bouncers tonight and they weren't nearly as adept at handling situations as she was, relegating her to babysitter until something better came up. Several of the men watched her, making no secret that they were ogling her, from the 4 inch spike of heel on her knee high boots to her long legs and ample cleavage. Her pale eyes were cocked, challenging anyone to dare approach her.
Only one man was stupid enough to take up the challenge. He sidled up in front of her, watching avidly as she cocked her head to the side and returned his stare with a bored look of her own. He was unimpressive, a lion who spent far too much time lifting weights and staring at himself in the mirror. His swagger oozed confidence, his smile vain, thinking he could easily handle her. "Hey baby, let's find a-OOMPH!" as her foot collided with his chest he went flying back into a table ten feet away.
"Eddie, get me another beer," the bartender laughed and handed her a bottle, watching her as she took a swig and swung her legs down off the bar. Amazingly, the possibility of violence at the bar only made the bar more popular. Then again, the city had been in chaos for so long a bit of controlled violence was a welcome distraction. The lion was slowly pulling himself up off the crushed table, growling a bit and swiping at the alcohol that had spilled all over him. Mina approached leisurely, taking a long sip of her beer, her heels clicking on the wooden floor. She stopped just short of her boot stepping on the man's crotch, making him instantly freeze, his eyes going wide. "Sorry, kid. Not into pussycats. Or lame pickup lines." She started to walk away but paused, glancing back down at the guy, "And touch me again and I'll break off your appendages...starting with your smallest."
Another night, another opportunity to fight off drunk guys wanting to cop a feel. God, you'd think they'd learn by now, but everyone wanted to be 'the one' to succeed, a bragging right like some macho pissing contest. Sometimes, Mina found, she enjoyed when she got to escape the bar and get a break from it. And usually those breaks were only during her "visits" with the MotC. Which was rather fucked up when she thought about it. Speaking of which...
"Lose your way?" she asked lazily, finishing off the bottle as she eyed the young vampire who approached her. His eyes darted around nervously, trying so hard to keep his haughty, imperial stance. He was here to represent the Master of the City and obviously found it quite a privilege. Rolling her eyes, she gestured silently for him to follow her to the offices at the back of the club. As the door to the staff entrance shut behind them, leading them down a hall of rooms, the rowdy noise of the club dimmed to a dull roar behind them. "Micah, isn't it?" she said conversationally, tossing the empty beer bottle in a trashcan they passed.
"Marcus," he frowned, obviously annoyed that she had forgotten his name. Again. She opened the door to one of the offices, entering and taking a seat on the lounging couch. Marcus continued to stand, staring at her. He wasn't too fond of her, every time he saw her he still pictured her kicking the crap out of that vampire a month ago.
It made her grin back at him. "Alright, Marcus...what does his imperial lordship want now?"
Marcus bristled at the mocking tone her voice held, but kept his voice only slightly offended. "Master Alexus requests your company immediately." The way he said 'request' made it obvious that it was a command rather than an invitation. Mina raised an eyebrow at him.
"Oh, he does, does he?" she responded, her voice over-exaggerated as if it were such an honor. But Leighton would demand she take up the...request. God it was insufferable to be at the beck and call of a vampire, particularly that one. She still hadn't figured out why she felt so uneasy around him. Perhaps because she didn't feel uneasy around him. In fact she often felt quite comfortable. She hated it. But instead she stared the vampire down and smiled, poison on her lips, "I'll make an appearance sometime."
Marcus stared at her in shock, his cold vampire demeanor dropping with his jaw. "He wants you to come NOW."
She stood, even such a simple movement graceful and predatory. "And I," she straightened herself to her full height, which was still several inches shorter than the vampire's, "said I will show. When I am ready." Her eyes were steely. Part of her duty or not, she didn't like to be treated as a pet, being demanded to show on cue like some trick. Her pale eyes flashed silver. "Surely you know by now you can't make a girl 'come' before she's ready, Marcus. So inform your Master that I'll make myself ready and come later."
"I'll see myself out," his eyes flared, but he broke contact first and turned on his heels, pausing at the door only a moment. "I will inform him of your words. Do not think your defiance will garner his mercy."
Mina rolled her eyes at his disappearing figure. "Like I fucking care," she muttered. Let him get pissed off. If he thought she was nothing but his toy, he had another thing coming. Leaving out the back door, she took her time walking back to her apartment. How'd she ever get herself into this mess to begin with? Why did he even want her around, she was nothing but unpleasant as a general rule. Ideas of what she should wear danced in the back of her mind. She thought about parading around their luxurious hotel in assless chaps, the club was bound to have them in the costume room. Then again if she pissed Alexus off too much, he might decide not to keep her around and then the wolves would lose their spy. "Fuck," she muttered as she bounded up the stairs to her apartment. No, she should make herself presentable, show that she actually put some thought and time into her appearance for him. It might alleviate his annoyance a bit.
Rifling through her closet in the "never worn" section she found what she was looking for. The silk slid across her skin as she pulled the short dress on. The material, style, and lace along the top made it look more like a nightgown than a dress. It only had one arm and sleeve, leaving the other side deliciously bare. He would appreciate the show of skin. Her wild mane she actually pinned up and reapplied her makeup. The lavender of the material contrasted beautifully with her skin and hair, whispering against her skin as she moved and slid her feet into matching heels. Her long legs peeked out from beneath the short skirt as she checked herself quickly in the mirror. Replacing the strings of necklaces she always wore, she cracked her neck and pulled the apartment door shut behind her.
"Going somewhere?" she could hear the frown in Kane's voice before she even turned around. When she did lay her eyes on him, it wasn't just a frown but a scowl on his face.
"You know I have a job to do," she responded evenly, a slight warning in her voice to drop it. She was tired of all the drama Kane brought ever since this thing with Alexus started. "And I'm already late."
He blocked her path and she sighed. Further delay wasn't going to help Alexus' mood. "You're going to HIM again." It wasn't a question, so she didn't respond to the obvious. His eyes flashed and he growled low in his throat. "I don't want you to go." Rolling her eyes at him she stepped past him, only to have him grab her arm. "I don't want you whoring yourself out to him."
Now her own eyes flashed dangerously as she turned around to face him. She yanked her arm out of his grasp. "This is not a conversation you want to have with me right now, Kane. And for your information we haven't had sex." His eyes softened momentarily. "But if that's what it takes to get Leighton what she needs, then I will." His eyes darkened again. "So back the fuck off and if you grab me like that again, I'll throw you through a fucking window, Kane." She stalked out, refusing to turn around and see his glowering face as he watched her go. She could feel his anger on her back the whole way.
Her mood was already soured as she as she made her way to the Fairmont. She was sick of dealing with Kane's dramatic episodes. She was still pissed off as she swept into the first floor of the hotel, causing several of the vampires present to lift their heads in surprise or back away. One of the guards stepped forward, partially weary of her and in part to usher her up to the Master the moment she walked in. Mina growled at him. "I know my way to the fucking Penthouse." She stalked straight forward to the elevators, hitting the button light enough not to break it but hard enough to make the sound ricochet across the grand room. Who the hell did Kane think he was, ordering her around, calling her a whore?
Mina took a deep breath once she was in the elevator and heard the doors shut behind her with a ding. She needed to calm down. It wouldn't do any good to go in there pissed off. DING. The elevator slowly crept up the shaft, making its slow ascent to the top floor. Each ding brought her a little closer to Alexus. And for some inexplicable reason she was looking forward to seeing him. Rolling her eyes she groaned. What the hell was wrong with her?
As the elevator pulled up to the top floor, the doors slid open and Marcus was waiting for her, a smirk in his eyes but a frown on his lips. "God you're weird," she muttered at him as she passed by. They usually had a few guards up here, just in case Alexus needed something or if someone unauthorized tried to slip by. Walking down the short hallway from the elevator to the front door to the Penthouse, Mina drew a long breath. She didn't bother knocking, he would already know she was there so she tossed open the door and let herself in.
